We’ve had the great opportunity to be on the last 2 of Local 782’s compilations. The second of which was just released last night. The cd contains 14 tracks from San Antonio artists. We had the opportunity to start off the CD release festivities at the first of 3 nights celebrating the cd. We played at Tonic on a great bill featuring Minimum Wage, Kick It!, and Egshan who all played great sets. The response was great for the entire evening and there was a great feeling of accomplishment for everyone. We Want to thanks everyone who came out and supported this cd as well as supported us. We met some new people last night and we hope we will keep seeing your faces at upcoming shows. Here’s 2 videos from last night’s show. Thanks to Alex and Jorge from Pop Pistol for helping us capture these moments on film.
“Closure” (acoustic): this is the song that you will find on the Loca 782 Vol 2 Compilation

ledaswan → Journal post from Erica – show with nico vega

Tuesday we opened up for a brilliant band called Nico Vega from L.A. It was at the Ten Eleven which is a dark and intimate place, honestly for some reason I’ve had the most fun playing there. First Ballroom Catastrophe from S.A. kicked off the show with their quirky dark, synth rock-the show went fantastically, everyone was “on” from the first beat, I know we didn’t miss a beat. It was about 120 degrees in there because I was sweating profusely, beads of sweat dripping onto my guitar as I played it, hair growing wild and wet, the guitar didn’t play me. Jackee was jumping around getting into it. And Rickey our new drummer’s first show with us- calm and collected – the glue that kept us all so together. And of course David, his meticulous, subtle but deadly guitar playing- shredding away. Jaime and his effortless rock stance and hair always blowing in the wind even when there’s no wind (band inside joke) – was nervous because Nico Vega is one of his favorite bands and he knew they would be watching. I’ve never seen him that nervous when he talked to the audience. I started to use my digital delay pedal that night that I bought a few years back, and it sounded cool but there are some minor technical difficulties with that i need to adjust-digressing-Then a few songs into our set I see Richy of Nico Vega in the crowd rocking out to one of our songs. I got a little shy and went inside the music for a bit. After the show Nico Vega’s drummer said we had an awesome set. Later we talked to Richy the guitarist and Aja the singer. They were all so cool and down to earth. Aja said she liked us and Richy commented on mine and Jackee’s harmonies, he said we rocked, and sounded like “one”….which we did that night. Then Nico Vega went on and played an amazing set. the drummer set up his drum set to the right of the stage at an angle, Richy and Aja are in the center. Aja turns into cat woman once the music starts and interacts closely with the audience. climbs on walls….. Richy is just a bad ass guitarist. They played an exceptionally organic set, nothing was fake, they didn’t care that it was a hole in the wall they were playing. They were just happy to be giving their music. The way I think it should be. There are few bands that want to give something, most are trying to gain something. Usually you can see through those. But not that night there was a whole lotta love making.
